The Exodus Begins

Both kids quietly listening to a story on Mommy's lap?? That almost never happens these days!

Chef Ben has become very fond of the potato masher and the whisk

This was the last week of school, which means that the expat exodus out of Phnom Penh is about to begin. Stay-at-home spouses and kids tend to go back home for the whole summer, with working parents joining them for as long as vacation balances will allow. Families seem to be trying to squeeze summer birthday parties in to these last few days--Ellie has been invited to 5 in 2 weeks!

We'll be here all summer, and will hang out with the few other kids who will be around Phnom Penh. Ellie has two weeks off of school, and then a month-long summer program, and then Ben and Ellie will start up again in late August.

What cute photos! You look like such a Mommy, Jen - reminds me of trips to the library and reading to little girls cuddled up on the sofa so many years ago. What an interesting tradition - families going "home" for the summer. It's really nice you'll all be together.
Love,
Mom
