I'm sure this comes as no surprise to all of you, but Jen's just achieved another milestone in her career. She found out on Friday that she has been promoted from FS-03 to FS-02, marking the second time in a row that she has been promoted the very first time she was eligible. This follows of course her award for Excellence in Labor Diplomacy and Superior Honor Award, not to mention getting assigned to a (no longer) stretch position as senior political officer in Santiago...
Just for reference, she tells me that about 25% of her orientation class is now at the same pay grade as she is, which means that of course she has a bunch of awesome friends also!
Anyway, we're both feeling very pleased about this, and a bump in pay and vote of confidence from her employer could really not come at a better time than now. And she fully expects that she will remain at this level until, oh, 2015 or so, with a few step increases along the way.

Way to Go! That is great. Between the trip and the promotion this is a great month!
It does not come as a surprise to hear how awesome my sister is, of course. We've known it for quite some time...in fact I'm pretty sure I always thought she was awesome, though early on that may have had more to do with her being my big sister than with her actual achievements. Congratulations!
As her parents, perhaps we can be excused for being a bit puffed up and proud. We knew from little on that we had quite a kid on our hands - one who stuck it out and never gave up. What makes me the most proud is that you do this in the field of public service, Jen, trying to make life better for others. To that and to your achievements we add our loud "Yahoo!".
Love,
Mom
Way to go, Jen!
